What a Fabulous night who cared about rain

12:00 p.m. Monday, 28 March 2011

Everyone should harden up and stop winging, this was a great concert by all artists especially love Midnight Youth my favourite kiwi band, ok rain was a pain but made the most of having a good time, if you couldn't see over umbrellas you should of been up and dancing down the front, where else could you get up as close to the front, maybe all oldies complaining and I'm not that young just young at heart thanks Villa Maria for a great venue

Umbrellas are allowed !! Wish we had taken ours in after being told not allowed, there was a SEA of large umbrellas...everywhere. Mudy as - the automatic almost got stuck in the grass getting out, but the nice man pushed me out ...It was wet and muddy for cars

I couldn't believe the amount of people who were at the concert. If you had believed the comments before the show, you would have thought they would have been playing to an almost empty concert site. I have to say though it was not the most pleasant of experiences. I wonder if the More FM winery tour had any cancellation insurance. We ended up leaving before Brooke Fraser finished (she was thehighlight of the show in my opinion) - we were just so wet - soaked right through - we had a tarpaulin, golf umbrellas, upright seats and raincoats. For us to attend for a 5th year we will have to think very carefully about buying tickets to Villa Maria in advance again. May think about some of the other venues next year.

The music was great, but was it a wise choice for the concert to go ahead - probably not. We will certainly think twice again with the MORE FM winery tour. This was our 4th year in a row. I don't think they had cancellation insurance. I checked out the Roxy Music and they do - big difference when booking to attend an outdoor concert. We left before Brooke Fraser finished - I just love her music. We came away soaked to the skin.

DISSAPOINTED

Comments all gone from yesterday....sad VM! Waste of money, should have been postponed. Totally gutted with the organisers.

Good concert if you could see the bands. Event should have been moved to the rain date or maintain the conditions and have NO umbrellas, you can't play both sides.

not so easily fooled

Nice 'propoganda machine' there VM: remove all of the previous comments of 'please postpone as this won't be fun' and only show the 'we went and it was still fun' comments. For those who still went, I'd ask whether it was as much fun as it could have been or has been in years past. At the end of the day the photos say it all: nowhere near as many people as usually go. And the comments suggest that some of those who went this year won't bother next year. Disappointing result - I used to think that VM respected and understood the true value of brand (and customer) loyalty.

great show OpShop were fantastic and rocked the crowd.Wet but fun!!...and we do it all again tonight wth Mr. Ferry....Not sure we deserved a warning and telling off for mistaking the seating arrangements and sitting in the blanket section with our 'higher' chairs....there were 6000 umberellas and as many tents......we were the least of those sat behind us worries....

Can't fault the bands / artists - fabulous! Still questionable having an outdoor concert without a back up day for this time of year. It was fun and good but no where near as good as it could have been. Feedback from my mates and folk around is that they will not repeat next year. It really was just too wet and muddy to be really enjoyable. Also, I agree with Angie. Far too many REALLY drunk people that scared the kids and nothing was done about it. Sure have fun and drinks but there are families there too. Overall: good atmosphere but could so easily have been a lot better. Can't help the weather but contingency plans help.

The bands were fantastic, especially Brooke. My only criticism is that there were some adults there who were drunk and disruptive and scaring some of the young kids in the crowd with their unpredictable behaviour. There needed to be more security guards patrolling within the crowds - particularly near the stage. We tried to get the attention of the security guy who was standing there in front of the stage but he seemed oblivious to what was happening.

Well, we went. Was a good time and a full venue. To those of you who felt it should have been postponed, I think you got it wrong. My opinion, for what it is worth.
